I am feeling taped out. No inspiration. As if everything has already been done by somebody else. Be it photography, writing, decorating, clothing, etc...I feel as if I have run out of ideas, and that is NO GOOD!
I guess the fact that the business I have been trying to start seems to be falling flat on it's face. Perhaps it is due to the fact that I waited 10 years too long to dive into what I have always wanted to do, and now there are 'photographers' on every street corner. Maybe it is because other professionals see me as a hobbyist, who is stepping on toes, rather than a newbie who is honestly doing everything I can. Who knows? Not me, that's for sure. What can I say...I tried?
Granted, I will not give up. That is not what I do. I am a fighter, in all situations. To take a quote from a great Incubus song; "If not now, when...?"
That tends to be my theory as of late. A sort of motto, one could say.
Perhaps all I need is a good, strong dose of Inspiration. With a side of confidence, and shot of patience. I am doing my best to be all of these, but let's just say that it's not always that easy. Oh what I would give for a real-life mentor! Let me rephrase - a FREE real-life mentor! People sure know what to charge just to speak! I just want to sit down and pick a photographers brain. On business, creativity, ideas, things like that.
"The
Seattle Brain Cancer Walk committee met tonight and selected Lindsi
Wolf's quote by Christopher Reeve for this year's t-shirt ~ "Once you
choose hope, anythings possible."
Back on August 8th, the Walk posted on their Facebook page that they needed a new quote for the survivor t-shirts for this years walk. So I submitted one, and they chose mine! YAY!
I could not feel more honored to be a part of this walk! Not only will my quote be printed on the back of the t-shirts, but I also donated an Experience this year!
SnapDragon Photography donated a family portrait session, and an 8x10 pro print. I am excited to see who gets this Experience, and to walk this year with my family and friends!
I am walking for my Papa who passed in 2003, and for my dear friend Heather who has been fighting this for the past two years. LOVE TO YOU BOTH, and to all who have passed, and those who are still fighting!
I couldn't be more in love with this photo! And this little darling doesn't even belong to me! Everyone meet littlest, prettiest Lennon {my cousin's youngest}!
When I think of writing a love letter to my husband, these words fit the best!
{A song from the movie 'Juno'}
"You're a part time lover and a full time friend,
The monkey on you're back is the latest trend,
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you...
Here is the church and here is the steeple, We sure are cute for two ugly people,
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you...
We both have shiny happy fits of rage,
You want more fans, I want more stage,
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you...
You are always trying to keep it real,
I'm in love with how you feel,
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you...
I kiss you on the brain in the shadow of a train,
I kiss you all starry eyed, my body's swings from side to side,
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you...
The pebbles forgive me, the trees forgive me,
So why can't, you forgive me?
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you...
Du du du du du du dudu
Du du du du du du dudu
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
I know many local Pro Photographers, whom I admire and adore to the full degree! But here are some that are not from around these-here-parts! Check out their work, and their websites! These are some that I look to for inspiration!
Because honestly, who doesn't love an amazing baby photo? Or maternity? Or family? Because I know I do! I love her props, and most importantly, her style!
She does the most amazing work! She is truly one of my FAVORITES! She recently shot this Alice in Wonderland themed session, and my jaw dropped {see above photo}! She does Lifestyle and Portrait photography, which is beyond words...
So there you have it! Some of my favorite photography artists! I hope you come to find, and enjoy, their work as much as I do!
I have officially survived my first wedding photography experience!
Granted, I only shot their reception, but this was their third one! They had a traditional wedding ceremony in Hawaii back in November, and then a traditional Indian ceremony in April. So this reception was thrown for those friends and family members who did not attend the other two...
Overall I am really pleased with how the photos turned out!
Here is a sneak-peek at some of my faves!
Please feel free to leave critiques on how you think I could improve...kind comments are welcome too, of course!
I have been unusually absent, as of late. So sorry! Gotta love those summer agendas - always on the move. Go, go, go. Busy, busy, busy!
But on the flip side, having absolutely nothing to do with me, I have quit a few friends who are going through some seriously FUN, EXCITING and LIFE CHANGING experiences right now! I am so excited for all of them, and don't see any of them often enough to tell them to their beautiful faces. So I am doing it here. Now...
Congratulations to all of you who have accomplished all you have ever dreamed. And to those who have become who they wanted, reached their goals and found themselves. For those who are raising families, and starting homes! As much I do not vocalize this, I consider myself honored to know you. And blessed to be able to have you as friends.
I would be fooling myself if I said I did not envy certain aspects of your lives. Because I do, and I no doubt always will. But this is a good thing! You are all my inspiration. You give me ideas on life, and how to better myself. How to stay positive and see the good. In people, and in life!
So a million THANK YOU's to all who are my friends. Because without you, I honestly do not know where I would be today.
