My First Feature & Music Monday

Remember awhile back when I told you that I joined For The Love Of Blogs? Well, today I am the featured blogger of the day! Silly how excited I am! Check IT out, then check THEM out! Yay for being featured!

On a completely different note, I am bummed that I can't seem to find the time to enter any photo challenges. BOO! I am hoping that this week brings better weather, and more time to Snap some photos! Fingers crossed...
For Music Monday I have just a short, simple thing to mention. I will not get into huge detail, but let me say that I am STOKED to announce that two of my favorite bands are coming out with new albums within the next couple of months! Who you ask? Why let me tell you:: Death Cab for Cutie, and Incubus! The best part about these new albums? The fact that neither band has come out with any new material in YEARS! So yes, this excites me A LOT! I know that Death Cab's first new single off of their album is out now, titled "You Are a Tourist", but I have yet to download it because I am strange in the fact that I like to wait for the album to come out, rather than buying the singles. And I am actually not quite sure if Incubus has released a new single yet, but something tells me they have. In fact, I am going to go research this now!
If you have read my complete list of ramblings this AM, I thank you!
Have a FANTASTIC MONDAY!

Music Monday:: GLEE

I have recently jumped onto the "GLEEK" wagon - and I am actually enjoying it! I know a lot of people who can't stand this show, or it's music, but I do love musicals {go ahead and laugh}! And I believe that the people who perform these songs are truly talented and should be the ones who are recognized. Rather than the performers who call themselves singers, because they add a synthesizer. For the most part, their versions of the songs they perform are usually better than the originals {now that's saying something}!
In fact, I have recently purchased a few of the soundtracks, and they are quit FUN to sing along to! Not only can these people SING, but they can PERFORM! The show is entertaining, and has sucked me in...I know that it has a cult following, and now I guess I am one of them!  I am surprised by myself {really} that I haven't joined in before - what with my obsession with music and all! But hey, better late than never!

Music Monday:: Pick of the Week

Anyone who knows me, knows that my coffee & music obsessions go hand in hand. Which just so happens to be how I am starting off my Monday morning! With iTunes blaring, and coffee in hand. That makes this Music Mondays theme very much appropriate ~ Starbucks iTunes Pick of the Week.

How many of you frequent Starbucks dwellers have noticed the Pick of the Week card sitting on the coffee bar? I have! They choose a handpicked song selection each week, and let you download it for FREE! And I don't know about you, but I LOVE FREE! Each week is a different song, and a different artist. Whenever I actually make it INSIDE of the store {I usually just drive thru with Emma}, I make it a point to check it out and see what they've got served up that day. And whenever my Mother-In-Law makes it inside the store, she makes sure to snag one up for me too!
Most recently I snagged a new Adele song {I heart her}. And one my favorites that I found was an Eddie Vedder song, entitled "Better Days". Anyways, the moral of this story is take advantage of FREE MUSIC! After all, you never know what you might come across ~ You may just find your new favorite artist!

Music Monday:: Amos Lee

Today I am kicking off my Music Mondays, by choosing to highlight an artist in the Singer/Songwriter genre:: Amos Lee. The Singer/Songwriter genre in my opinion, is not popular enough! These individuals {whether together in a group or duo, or as a single person} are so incredibly talented, that they actually intimidate me! For instance, check out my previous post all about The Civil Wars.
Today, I am in love with a song entitled "Windows Are Rolled Down" off of Amos Lee's newest album 'Mission Bell' {who's album art is after my own heart}. This man has such an incredible voice! He has been around since 2005, and his music just keeps getting better! If you don't believe me, check it out for yourself::

Apparently Ellen loves him, too!
